Looking for a quick and delicious seafood dinner with almost no effort? This Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Shrimp is tender, juicy, buttery, and loaded with garlic and lemon flavor. It’s perfect served over rice, pasta, or alongside crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Ingredients
2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
6 tbsp unsalted butter
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Add the butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, and optional red pepper flakes to the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for about 30 minutes, until the butter has melted and the garlic becomes fragrant.
Add the shrimp and gently toss them in the garlic-butter mixture. Cover again and cook on HIGH for approximately 30–60 minutes, checking early. The shrimp are ready when they are opaque and reach 145°F (63°C). Avoid overcooking, since shrimp can quickly become rubbery.
Finish with fresh parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon. Serve immediately with rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or warm bread.
Tip: If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely and pat them dry before adding them to the slow cooker for the best texture.
